I was seeing Dr. Borque for issues with my knee, and he performed a plica removal in December. The surgery went ok, although I had no sensation on the lateral side of my knee. When I went to my follow-up a week out, I saw his PA and was given steroids to see if that helped. A month post-op op, I had fallen and went to see him again, only to be seen by his PA again. They did an MRI and were told that nothing was wrong at the time. Since then, I have been doing physical therapy twice a week with no improvement and continued swelling and pain. I finally went and had my PCP due another MRI in April to be told that I had a tear in my meniscus and a grade 2 sprain of the MCL. This time, I made another appointment with Dr Borque and even specifically requested to see him, not his PA, as my right with my insurance. When I got there, I was again seen by his PA, and he and Dr. Borque looked at the images and told me that while there was a signal change, nothing was wrong, and everything looked fine. I was even told that they would refer me to have a nerve block done on my knee, as they thought that the pain and swelling were related. My thinking at this time was that if something was wrong, the nerve block may make it worse. I have since seen another orthopedic surgeon, and on my visit, after he examined my knee by manipulating it to see where and what caused the pain, he went and showed me and explained the MRI. He also showed me that there WAS a tear and that I would need to have it repaired. Again, while I did like Dr. Borque, I don’t think his PA was coordinating with him or something else was happening. Out of the nine appointments I have had with them, not to include the surgery, I saw his PA 6 times and always seemed to get the run around on treatment or was told to give steroids.
